Linux Systems Administrator – AWS

Position Overview

ABX Technologies is seeking an experienced Linux Systems Administrator to support mission-critical government systems in a secure environment. The ideal candidate has strong Linux administration experience with exposure to AWS cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain enterprise Linux systems supporting mission-critical government environments.
• Install, configure, patch, and troubleshoot Linux operating systems.
• Monitor system health, performance, availability, and capacity.
• Troubleshoot complex operating system, networking, storage, and application issues.
• Support Linux infrastructure hosted within Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Manage AWS compute, storage, networking, and monitoring services.
• Automate system administration tasks using Bash, Python, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Support system hardening and security compliance requirements.
• Manage system accounts, permissions, services, packages, and configurations.
• Support DNS, LDAP/Active Directory, NFS, networking, and enterprise infrastructure.
• Document system configurations, procedures, troubleshooting processes, and operational activities.
• Collaborate with DevOps engineers, software developers, security personnel, and government customers.
• Support highly available and resilient infrastructure in secure environments.

Required Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI security clearance with current CI Polygraph.
• 3+ years of experience administering Linux systems.
• Strong experience with Linux operating systems.
• Experience supporting Linux systems in enterprise environments.
• Hands-on experience with AWS.
• Experience troubleshooting Linux operating system and infrastructure issues.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals.
• Experience with Bash or Python scripting.
• Experience with system monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Git or other source-control systems.
• Ability to work effectively in secure government environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Amazon EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, and related AWS services.
• Experience with Ansible.
• Experience with Terraform.
• Experience with Docker or Kubernetes.
• Experience with DNS, LDAP/Active Directory, NFS, and enterprise storage.
• Experience with system hardening and security compliance frameworks.
• Experience supporting classified government environments.
• Experience with CI/CD environments.
