DevOps Engineer – AWS

Position Overview

ABX Technologies is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to support mission-critical government systems in a secure environment. The ideal candidate has strong experience with AWS, Terraform, Ansible, and Packer.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain infrastructure within Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform.
• Automate system configuration, provisioning, and deployment using Ansible.
• Build and maintain machine images using Packer.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated infrastructure and application deployment.
• Support cloud-based Linux infrastructure and enterprise systems.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking, and deployment issues.
• Automate repetitive operational processes using scripting and configuration management.
• Implement infrastructure following security, reliability, and operational requirements.
• Monitor system health and troubleshoot performance and availability issues.
• Collaborate with software engineers, system administrators, security personnel, and government customers.
• Document infrastructure, deployment procedures, configurations, and operational processes.
• Support development and maintenance of highly available and resilient cloud environments.

Required Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI security clearance with current CI Polygraph.
• 3+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, systems engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with AWS.
• Strong experience with Terraform.
• Strong experience with Ansible.
• Experience developing and maintaining Packer images.
• Strong Linux administration skills.
• Experience with Git and source-control workflows.
• Experience with scripting such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience with CI/CD concepts and tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure and application deployment issues.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Amazon EKS/Kubernetes.
• Experience with Docker and containerized environments.
• Experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar CI/CD platforms.
• Experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Lambda, and CloudFormation.
• Experience with automated security and compliance scanning.
• Experience supporting classified or highly secure government environments.
• Experience with enterprise DNS, LDAP/Active Directory, NFS, networking, or storage systems.
• Experience working within DevSecOps environments.
